Every year Chorleywood Tennis Club holds a tennis tournament on New Years Day.
This year the conditions were perfect, no wind, no rain, no bright sun. And further serendipity, we had six men and six women arrive at 1.30 to play.
The standard was high, the sets hard fought and at the end Miriam and Brigitte, both unbeaten, tied for the winner’s wine whilst David Hall carried off his prize, also unbeaten.
Being the first day of the new decade each participant was given a sample of wine to take home.
