If you are fairly new to the club you will have no idea what I am talking about, but read on, it’s worth it…

Back in the days before COVID, we used to have really fun evenings of competitive social tennis with a meal and drinks afterwards. They were called ‘Sevens tournaments’ , because they involved 7 short sets of tennis with rotating partners and opposition, followed by a delicious meal together in the clubhouse. There were exactly 28 people (4 groups of 7) which made for a very social evening as well as some great tennis. Several people would be nominated to make a dish (for which the costs would be reimbursed) and there was much drinking and merriment all round.

I’ve put all this in the past tense… but no more!

We are going to have a 2021 Sevens event on Friday 12th November. 

You may think 28 places is a lot, but they get snapped up very quickly. So email me Sue Blythe at – sueblythe1@gmail.com to reserve your place – the cost is £5 a head to cover the cost of the food. We will start the tournament at 7.30 sharp, but you can arrive to warm up as early as you like.

There will also be a list to sign up in the clubhouse, but the quickest way is to send me an email.
