OVERVIEW OF THE TENNIS LEVELS:
Mini Tennis is a great introduction to the sport for young children between 4 and 10 years old. It’s just like the real thing, but with smaller courts, nets and rackets and lower-bouncing balls.
There are three levels of Mini Tennis; Red, Orange and Green, each with their own court size and type of ball. This tailored approach, based on age and physical maturity enables players to develop vital skills and techniques at an early age.
The low compression balls used in Mini Tennis are slower and lower bouncing making it far easier to learn the game.
Yellow ball is using the regular balls and full size court. There are 3 levels within each colour, development, club and performance. Performance is the highest level for advanced players. Development players progress to club on the recommendation of the squad coach. Please get in touch (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you are unsure what session is best for your child.
We conform to the LTA guidelines on coach:pupil ratios. For Mini Tennis we have ratios of 1:8 and for junior tennis 1:12. This enhances the pupil learning experience which you may not experience at other clubs. Pupils must join as members of the club to participate in these lessons.
